After living for some time in Argentina, I returned to higher education as a mature student so that I could officially pursue a career in translation and/or literature, and achieved first-class honours with distinction on completion of my BA Joint Hons in English Literature and Modern Language Studies at the University of Liverpool.
My degree consisted of studies in English literature, Spanish language, general Hispanic culture/cinema/literature studies, Hispanic linguistics, Eighteenth-century history and literature, American literature, Medieval English literature/history, and Portuguese language.
I am a reliable and meticulously professional translator, specialising in literary translation but with a wide range of interests and therefore also working with non-fiction and other types of translation. I work from Spanish to English and Portuguese to English, and I am currently preparing for the CIOL DipTrans exam.

Author review: Absolutamente maravillosa y muy recomendada. Se preocupó por adaptar los juegos de palabras y algún chiste que contenía la novela. Teniendo en cuenta que "Amaranta" usa vocabulario coloquial propio de niños, no era una traducción fácil. Sin embargo Karen tradujo todo con el máximo mimo y cuidado. Los tiempos fueron perfectos y la comunicación excelente. Con gusto volvería a trabajar con ella en el futuro. Karen did a wonderful job. Everything was translated on time and very accurately. The communication was excellent, she offered options when there was the need to change the name of a character or anything else. I can't find anything wrong to say about her. |
