My mixed background in Literary Studies and Linguistics (USP - Sao Paulo, Brazil), Screenwriting (London) and Engineering (a long, long time ago...) places me at the "sweet spot" for translating technically-minded fiction works and specialized texts in the Humanities.
I am an experienced, senior-level translator that has worked for fifteen years in the science, technical and business fields.
In recent years I've made serious incursions as an author in science fiction and historical fiction (short stories, screenplays and stage plays written in Portuguese or English; currently working on my second novel), and have also directed a few documentaries, fiction shorts, and music videos, so I have a firm grasp of storytelling.
I am looking to partner with ambitious and talented writers who wish to convert their stories and ideas to Brazilian Portuguese for Brazilian readers.
Types of books I'm keenly interested in translating include: science fiction (all subgenres), historical fiction, popular science, humanities in general (but especially linguistics, sociology, economics), business, and self-help.
