Jose tapia

My name is Jose A. Tapia, I was born on April 20th 1974 in Mexico city. My childhood was spent in a little community in Estado de Mexico until I was 14 years old. Having my grandmother born in Texas State,I asked her to take me to the states supposedly to work and have a better life. We flew over to Tijuana Mexico, it was the first time that I got on an airplane, it was an exciting experience, then my uncles paid 300 hundred Dollars to an American citizen to cross me over as his son, since it was 3 a.m, I was tired so he told  me to recline my seat and sleep and he would wake me up once we got to my uncle's. Once there my uncle show me a room where I could continue my sleep. The next day my cousins took me to Ross store to buy me a couple of outfits.Next day my uncle took me to work cleaning yards, there were nice houses in Toluca Lake, and Universal City,as well as Burbank California. This was for a couple of Months until my brother and sister decided to enroll me in North Hollywood High School, I started 9th grade there, I remember the first day of school having the language barrier, I had to leave the luch line,I couldn't tell the lady what I wanted. Then decided to accomplsh one thing and only, learn English once and for all. By 10th grade I already spoke english little bit broken but I manage to be in  regular classes by the end of  the10th grade. Graduation came in 1994 , The Legends we were! Prom night was stellar, all my friend and I had fun. After this disgrace came to my  life, my Mother had a terminal illness (cancer) Had to go back to Mexico, right there I had the opportunity to see her still before she died.  I spent her last months beside her.  Then I atarted teaching english at a High School here in mexico, nowadays I have 15 years of experience teaching ,kids, teens, young adults, and adults, I have a pretty good grammar knowledge as well as writing skills, once I made an exam to work as an interpreter for 911 emergencies which I aced but Mexico is a very noisy place to have an office with no background noise so that was the the thing that that company didn't like. So I know I am a great candidate to become a great Translator. I started working for several English schools,  such as Harmon hall Zona Rosa, CNCI institute,Interlingua,CETEC institute, Conversa institute, as well as private schools such as American Institute, and TEB group. I have developed exams for SEP which is a mexican goverment board of school, I manage an interactive platform in Brittish, this allows students to practice the for skills in English ,listening, speaking, reading and writing.for the listenings we have audios, for speaking we have recoeded practices, for readings we have various books according to students level, and for finally for writing we have the essay blog which is checked by foreign teachers. We even have and exam that will allow students to better develop their english abilities to a close to native level, which will be certified by a Cambridge Teacher, in Mexico. This is so exciting for students due to the presentation they have to do face to to face with the foreign Teacher.students are confident to talk in english and to make friends around the world.
