John bardsley

In December of 2018 I completed my bachelors at Iowa State University in Communications and German Studies. I studied in Ames, Iowa for three years, did a 10 month exchange in Marburg, Germany, did an internship in Mannheim, Germany and then finished up my last semester in Iowa.

Throughout my life I've been extremely interested in foreign languages, and German in particular. I've been learning since high school, through college, and have spent 16 months in Germany for my exchange as well as the internship. This comes to a total of around 8 years in which I've been learning German.

The hobby which I spend the most time on is reading. My mother had me reading books as soon as I could. I never shook the habit. Some of my favorite genres include classics, historical fiction, and biography. Some of my favorite works include, The Short Stories of Scott Fitzgerald, For Whom the Bell Tolls, East of Eden, and The Last Lion. Other important things about me: cat person, early riser, coffee drinker, and avid cooker!

I have completed one translation through Babelcube. While this is not extensive experience, I also provided many translation for my internship in Mannheim. I find the work challenging, satisfying and much more demanding than it seems. Navigating through the different structures, grammatical concepts, idiomatic expressions, and many more factors make translating one text into a different language a formidable task, but one that I love doing.

I would be happy to hear from you and be able to work together with you in order to allow people access your work!

Großartige Übersetzung mit sehr feinem Gespür für beide Sprachen. Ich kann John Bardsley nur aller wärmstens empfehlen.
