I am your man for the job!

My love for languages started when I was sixteen and still in high school. It was lunch hour and sitting behind me and a little ways off was a group of Latino students conversing in their native tongue. It was the first I had ever really listened to Spanish as it is spoken. At first, I felt fear and the need to know what they were saying. However, my fear quickly became a fascination and a desire to not necessarily understand what they were saying, but rather understand them as people. Since then I have taught myself Spanish and was well near fluent by the time I graduated high school. My command of the language was perfected through six weeks of intensive training and study in the Missionary Training Center in Bogota, Colombia. Following my six week stay in Bogota, I served in Cochabamba, Bolivia as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where for two years I spoke almost no English on a regular basis. In addition to my regular duties as a missionary, I was tasked with the translation of church text from Spanish to Bolivian Quechua. I also learned Brazilian Portuguese. After my mission from 2014 to 2016, I worked as a bilingual customer service representative/sales representative at Teleperformance USA where I was certified through the company as bilingual in order to be able to interact with non-English speaking customers. This was from 2016 to 2019. I now currently live in Bolivia with my wife who is non-English speaking and am starting a career as an online freelancer.
