A polyglot translator with tons of experience translating entertainment media (comics, manga, videogames, T.V. series...), as well as medical texts, among other things.

Fernando pérez

I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages (Translation), and a diploma as a Spanish teacher for foreigners.

I have worked translating comics and manga from Japanese, English and German into Spanish for many years; for Editorial Vid, Panini Comics and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Some of the titles I have worked on are: Naruto, Berserk, One Punch Man, Ranma 1/2, Dragon Quest, Maid Sama, Ghost in the Shell, Given, Saint Seiya, Playmobil Magazine, Death Note, John Carter, Star Wars, etc.

I have also worked for SDI Media, mainly subtitling series, films, documentaries, videogames, and translating legal documents. Some of my clients there were MTV Japan, BBC Entertainment, Playboy, Warner Brothers, etc. I also had the honor of translating the Batman Arkham City videogame into Spanish for all consoles.

I have worked for several translation agencies as well, translating mainly commercial, technical or medical texts.

I try to limit myself to translating only into Spanish, because that is my native language, and I believe it's extremely hard to acheive excellence trying to write in a foreign language, even if one is already an expert. However, I sometimes do translate into English, depending on the project.

Apart from my main working languages, I have proficiency certificates for Greek (B2), French (B2), Italian (B2) and Russian (B1). From that list, the only language I have never worked with is Russian.

Author review:
That was my first time working with Fer. He was friendly, fast, cooperative and professional; and as far as I can tell, his work was more than great. It was a pleasure to work with him and is highly recommended to anyone who wants to see their stories in Spanish.
