Spanish Navy officer, I've been stationed on frigates Victoria and Canarias and on offshore patrol vessel Tornado. I've deployed twice to the Indian Ocean as part of the European Union's counterpiracy operation Atalanta for Somali waters, and in the Gulf of Guinea in a cooperative security role. I have a masters degree in Peace, Security and International Conflicts and I've written articles about naval and security issues for a couple of magazines.
