I'll carry your words wherever you want them to go

Emanuele caccia

To be as brief as possible, I was born and raised in the foggy plains of northern Italy, where I also had both my High School education and my Bachelor's Degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation.

After working as PR Assistant and translator in Milan, I decided to spend some time working abroad, so I flew over to Australia, where I remained for little short of a year, hitchhiking and trying my hand at different jobs. After my time there, I returned to Italy, where I currently live and work as a freelance translator and proofreader.

Though I have worked, and occasionally still do, in technical fields, my specialization is literary translation, and my last project has been the Italian translation of Cecilia Dart-Thornton's last book in the Crowthistle Chronicles: Fallowblade, edited as "Lamafulva".

My first contact with English was through an impressive amount of DOS games given to me as a present by my dad. Every single one of them was completely in English, with no option to change the language, so my choice was to either give up on videogames entirely or learn the language.

That's how I started, and I never stopped learning and exercising my English a single day since. This was possibly the best decision I ever made, as it has pushed me into what's now both an occupation and an all-encompassing passion: translation.

Author review:
Emanuele did a great job translating "The Small Dark Room of the Soul" into Italian. He was conscientious, timely, and very thorough and responsive in all his communications. I hope to work with him again on a future project.
