My name is Edna Goff. I am 55 years old and have been teaching English for 23 years. I am married. I have one daughter. Her name is Melanie Palacios, 28 years-old and she is a bussiness administrator. I was born in Panama, but I have lived in Guatemala since 1990.
When I was 19, I had a scholarship from AID program and I studied at the university of Wisconsin-Richland Center. I had a major in Computer Science and a minor in Arts. I went back to Panama and continued my education there. Afterwards, I got married with a Guatemalan person and I came to live to Guatemala. Since I came here, I had the opportunity to work as an English teacher and studied at Del Valle University and Mariano Galvez. I went back to the US to Louisiana in 1996 and I taught Spanish in Public School for three years. I had the chance to work in call centers as well. Lately, I have been translating documents by helping a friend of mine. My experience as a translator has not been just written, but spoken. The church I go to, i have had the chance to translate to missions, pastors that come from the US sometimes. So for me it is a pleassure to translate books from English to Spanish or from Spanish to English. Someday I would like to become a writer. That is a skill I would like to achieve and I know with excellent practice I will achieve it. I'd like to write romantic novels, children's book and bilingual educational books. It is a pleassure for me to apply for this job. I hope to get on board. Thank you!
