Hi,
My name is Daniela Pardo and I am a freelance translator from English and French into Spanish with a very high interest in audiovisual and literary translation.
I heard about Babelcube from a friend and after doing some research, I thought it would be very interesting to join, since I would be pleased in collaborating with all the projects in which you may need a professional translator.
Besides my academic background and experience as a translator, I can also offer my personal joy for my work and for literature in general. I spend most of my free time reading and I always think about how great it is being able to share all these stories all around the world in so many different languages, so that we all have access to that special work.
I have a bachelor degree that specializes in translation and have taken online courses to expand my education; including a Correction, style and grammar of the Spanish language course by the University of Barcelona. I work as a volunteer translator for TED and I did an internship period as a project manager, translator and proofreader in STAR Servicios Lingüísticos in the city of Barcelona, Spain.
With all this formation, I have learned about the whole process of a translation project in order to fulfill with time and quality standards, I learned to use CAT Tools such as, Trados and Transit NXT, and of course, having the opportunity of developing my translation skills. Besides all this, I have had the opportunity of living in different cities and traveled around the world, which has helped me to really understand and experience so many different cultures, opening my eyes and my mind to many different “worlds”, something that also happens while reading.
