Constantina mavrou

Constantina Mavrou was born in Cyprus in 1980. Since 1999 she has been a permanent resident of Italy, where she studied, lives and works. She is an associate member of the Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (A.I.T.I), and registered on the Database of editorial translators of “Cepell” (Centro per il libro e la lettura) of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. During and after her studies in the field of Conservation of Cultural Heritage she dealt professionally with the translation of texts of cultural and cultural character and showed particular interest in children's literature. She attended a distance course in Italian language and translation at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (E-Learning Program) and continuously attends seminars and training programs on translation and children's literature.

She worked for more than ten years as a linguistic assistant at the Italian company Stenotype Italia, and she conducted the localization of the Italian Stenotype System (Melani – Stenotype) into Greek, with particular attention to the needs of the Cypriot dialect. At the same time, she was the official Greek - Italian translator for the Audio Guides for twenty-seven archeological places in Cyprus protected by UNESCO within a project of the Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO), under the contract of Avantless ltd with the CTO.

Since 2014 she is fully dedicated to children's literature and collaborates with the Italian publishing house Anicia for the promotion of the Cypriot authors in Italy. Examples of the outcomes of this collaboration is publication of the books «P. Plissi, Non sono un mostro, ti dico!» [I’m not a monster, I tell you! Athens 2011, Kedros Publishers] and «Plissi P. & Louvrou E., Autismo - Le regole non scritte del comportamento sociale per bambini e ragazzi da 4 a 12 anni, Roma 2016» [Autism. The unwritten rules of social behaviour for children 4-12 years, Athens 2017, Patakis Publishers] is in press.
