My Indie Life

Brian d. meeks

I began writing on Jan 2, 2010 because I was bored and the football bowl game didn't kickoff until later that night. I just happened accross the blogging site, Blogger, and decided to write a piece about my foibles in woodworking. It was well received, so I wrote another post the next day.

I've written a blog post every day since.

Over that time I've completed seven novels and one non-fiction. Five of the novels are published and the other two books should be out by the end of June. My most successful books are the first two in the Henry Wood Detective series. It is a classic noir mystery set in 1955 NY City with a just a touch of science fiction.

Henry Wood Detective Agency, as of May 22, 2014, has 188 reviews and a 4.3 star rating on Amazon.com, while the second book, Henry Wood: Time and Again, has 113 and a 4.2 rating.

My life before I discovered writing was as a data analyst. As such, I keep volumes of sales data and track book promotions with meticulous precision. I'm confident that the next stage in my writing/publishing journey is to build an audience world wide.

I believe the ereader explosion is just beginning outside of the U.S. and this is the best time to investigate translating my novels into languages other than English.
