My sister Claudia had the idea to start translating books. And now here we are.
I read pretty much one (english) book a day, so I have lots of experience with the language and with expressions that need to be changed slightly to make sense in German. I've seen so many translations where people just translate word for word and so much meaning gets lost.
I'm just a bored housewife (when I was in school back in 1996, I was really good in English, I don't want you to think that I've never been to school!☺), but my sister actually went to University to study this kind of thing. She has degrees in English and American studies - and Portuguese, but that's unfortunately not enough to translate books! ☺
Obviously my sister will be the main translator in this endeavor. But I will help as much as I can. Four eyes are definitely better than two in this job!
Also, what might interest authors - I run a book-blog with an australian friend. We're on FB with 10k likes. And what's even more interesting for an author's german sales: I run the german Fifty Shades fanpage, where I post at least five book recommendations a day! With almost 60k likes those posts get some reach - of course not a mega-huge reach, because FB sucks, but at least it's something. So if your book is not completely out of our range of interest, we will definitely promote it on our pages!
