MY CHILDHOOD

Already when I was a child, my strength was communication. Thanks to my Italian mother the Italian language was always a part of me and my life. So I started early in a natural way to interpret for family members and strangers. I realized immediately: That’s what I want to do!

So I made it my goal to help overcoming language barriers and make communication possible where normally there would be none.

MY EDUCATION
1. Master’s Degree in Romance Languages, Classical Archeology and Latinamerican Studies

I finished my first Master’s degree in 2011 at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main in Romance Languages (Italian and Spanish Literature and Culture), Classical Archeology and Latinamerican Studies. In this context I underwent my first longer stays in foreign countries. I spent spring and summer of 2009 at the Università degli Studi in Florence and did an internship in Salamanca. The following year I went to Costa Rica to do Voluntary Work teaching English to pupils of 7 to 10 years.

2. Master’s Degree in Conference Interpreting, Community Interpreting and Legal Translations

In October 2011 I started my second Master’s Degree at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz/Germersheim, that I finished three years later in 2014 in Translation (Conference Interpreting, Community Interpreting and Legal Translations for Italian and Spanish). During the last year in Germersheim I was working for the Dolmetscherpool where I interpreted for social organizations in need of language support. At the same time I was working as a university lecturer teaching German for foreigners.

I already became a freelancing translator and interpreter back in 2008.

MY LIFE OF TRAVELS

I started early to travel on my own. In 2014 I headed out into the big world taking my first step in the direction of being a digital nomad: meaning the ability to work and travel at the same time by being 100% location independent. Since then I am on the road as a longterm traveller exploring mainly Latinamerica but as well other parts of this beautiful world. If you are searching for me, you will probably find me somewhere close to the beach where it's warm with my MacBook in front of me.
