Hello! I'm Abby. I studied a bachelor's degree in English Teaching in Mexico City, at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). I have been working for almost three years by now as an English Teacher, for kindergateners, teens and young adults.

I have also been working as a freelance Translator with a publishing house in Mexico City, doing magazine articles and interviews, mainly. The topics were about daily social situations.

In addition, I translated the manual 'The 202020 Vision' from English into Spanish, which is a handbook related to the policies on environmental care, planting, water care, pollution decrease and air care in Australia.

I also worked for two years in the English version of the academic journal at my university campus. It all began as voluteering for six months but I loved it so much I stayed longer. I was in charge of doing the English version along the Spanish one, under the editor's direction. The main written work I did were specialized texts such as academic abstracts, the article's title and the author's biography.

Two of my hobbies are reading and listening to music. I have always loved them and, when started studying language and linguistics, I realized how much unsaid there is behind the true meaning of words. I'm fascinated by the way words work all connected in speech and I simply love the way they can be transfered from one language to another.

I have traveled out of Mexico thanks to two scholarships I was awarded while at college. I went to California State University, Northridge for a summer camp on TOEFL and I also had the chance to study English in the UK for some time, at Churchill House School of English. Additionally, I own a C1 certificate (Cambridge Proficiency).

In general, my life is all about words and language. I read or listen something and I'm immediately thinking about it in one language or another. My native language is Spanish but I'm thinking in English almost all day, all days.

Author review:
The translator is great. She was fast, efficient, and answered all my questions. I want her to do the rest of my books.
