This is a syrupy lemon and apple dessert that is wonderful served with a homemade almond custard. You could use eating apples in this recipe but you may want to adjust the sugar slightly. This is warming and a lovely spiced apple dessert for all diets.

2 Tbsp. maple syrup

½ cup caster sugar
