Smart and Lazy Sell Like Crazy

If you want to learn how to sell anything to anybody, doing only what really works and leaving the hassle to others, this book is for you. This concise guide focuses on proven concepts and tools any salesperson needs to achieve self-mastery and to develop and sharpen his selling skills.

Von Manstein's Matrix, a tool to identity top performers devised by military genius Field Marshall Erich Von Meinstein, explains why clever and lazy is the way to go. Clever and lazy people think before they act, avoid unproductive things, focus on a few key priorities and know what not to do.
Why would you waste your time learning the 365 ways to handle objections if mastering a handful will take care of 80% of the situations?

Selling is about 7 Fundamentals:
1. Self-image
2. Goals
3. Making appointments
4. Building relationships
5. Delivering persuasive presentations
6. Handling objections
7. Closing the deal

The book presents a few effective techniques for mastering each one of these Fundamentals. Whether you are just starting up in sales, are already a seasoned veteran, or lie somewhere in between, that's all you ever need to be successful in sales.

This is definitively a must-have book for all salespeople.

Sample text:

At the beginning of the 20th century, the United Kingdom was both the most formidable empire and the strongest industrial power the world had ever seen. But not everything was bright and sunny in Old Albion. An English shoe manufacturer, Mr. Arbuthnot, was deeply concerned about the declining boot sales in the island.

He wondered if opening new markets abroad could be the solution to his problem. A cunning man, Mr. Arbuthnot decided to perform what we would now call a market study. He called not one, but two of his salesmen and sent them to Africa to make a survey. He reasoned that instead of relying on the views of just one man, two opinions would give him a clearer and more solid picture of the potential shoe market there.

And so it was that Mr. Clark and Mr. Cooper, the elected salesmen, acting as true African explorers, boarded ships headed for two different spots in Africa. Both were instructed to make a first appraisal of the market and to report back what they found as soon as possible.

Within days of arriving, Mr. Clark telegraphed to Mr. Arbuthnot:

"Survey complete. Natives all go barefoot. No one here wears shoes. There is no market for us. Heading back on the next ship."

This rather negative assessment of the market’s potential leaves Mr. Arbuthnot despondent for the remaining of the day.

He only perks up in the following morning when his secretary brings him a very different telegram from Mr. Cooper:

"Survey complete. Natives all go barefoot. No one here wears shoes. Tremendous market potential. Request permission to set-up shop.
