Don’t hold me like this, her mind pleaded.  I am supposed to be mad at you and you’re making it difficult!

His lips twitched upwards into a smile as his grip relaxed.  He steadied her back on the cushion as he chuckled.  “You okay?”

“I’m fine,” Heidi said between clenched teeth as she felt goose bumps rising on her flesh.  How stupid it was that his fingertips could cause such a reaction from her, and after everything he’d done!

“Are you sure?” He questioned as he lifted a brow.  “You’re shaking like a leaf.”

Her face was on fire as she shrugged his hand away from her shoulder, tugging the gown back into place as she stood from the cushioned seat.  “I am fine,” she repeated as she started for the door.  “I think you should g-”

Before she had time to finish the sentence, she found herself pinned between the wall and Brison’s chiseled frame.  His nose bumped lightly against hers as his sweet breath fanned over her lips.  “Are you really mad at me?”

She was getting really tired of people interrupting her questions, but she couldn’t quite remember why she was upset as his warm mouth covered hers.  A small squeak of surprise escaped between their lips as he kissed her, and Heidi was helpless.  Her eyes fluttered to a close on their own accord, and she found herself kissing him back before her common sense had the opportunity to kick in.

You are mad at him! Her mind screamed.  He abandoned you and Isaiah to face Edie alone.  Stop kissing him!
