The  Gift of Aphrodite  is a love story about 18-y.o. daughter of a Russian nobleman and a penniless hussar (hussars were light horsemen in the Russian Imperial Army in the 19th century). The girl does not want to marry a man that her parents found for her - a wealthy, high-ranking earl forty years older than the girl. She tries to force her dad to cancel the wedding, but to no avail. The brave hussar kidnaps and marries the girl. Luckily, the dishonored earl turns out to be a close relative of the hussar, and the uncle quickly reconciles with his young nephew, who is also his dearest heir.
