Sample text:

In the last chapter, we read about how children learn how to read, word by word, then stringing words into sentences. Let's move forward and learn what sub-vocalization is and how it affects speed-reading skills.

Children are first taught to read out loud. Reading aloud helps the child with their pronunciation of the words and comprehension of the text. This process enabled teachers to track the reading progress of their students, helping them with correct pronunciation reading sentences one at a time, and helping students to recognize sentence punctuations. When this form of reading was satisfactorily achieved, they were taught to read silently saying the words in their head. This manner of reading is probably how subvocalization begins. For many, this is the way they read through their lifetime.

Subvocalization is very common. It is something we unconsciously do when we read. It is the silent internal speech made when reading and gives sound to the word as it is read.[7][8]  This involves saying the words in our head while reading a text, pronouncing every word. It aids in the memorization of what is being read. However, it is also the reason that most people only read at either a slow, or average speed.
