Sample text:

You might think it is not a good idea to cook chicken in a slow cooker because of the low temperature but you are wrong because you are cooking them for many hours. In fact, chicken recipes are some of the most popular slow cooker recipes and you can easily find chicken recipes that your whole family will love.

Chicken thighs and legs are commonly used in crock pot recipes that require you to cook for 8 to 10 hours. On the other hand, chicken breasts take a shorter time to cook because they become tough and dry after cooking them for 6 hours. However, some slow cookers may only require you to cook chicken breasts for only 4 hours, especially the newer models. What you can do is to check the temperature of the chicken using a thermometer. Chicken thighs usually cook at a temperature of 160 F and chicken thighs and legs at around 165 F.

Chicken with and without bones also differ in cooking time. Bone-in chicken takes a longer time to cook and is less likely to overcook and the opposite can be said about boneless chicken. Another important tip for cooking with chicken using a slow cooker is to remove the skin. The skin is not only fatty, which can make your dish oily. It also doesn’t become crispy and is not really appetizing when cooked in a slow cooker. But if you are big chicken skin fan, you can still add it to your slow cooker dish as long as you brown the chicken with its skin on first to make it look appetizing and to improve the flavor.
