Although lists can be good, they can also be bad if used in the wrong way. For example, if you spend all of your time listing things and none of it actually getting anything done, then they serve little purpose. I knew one man who used to obsess over lists right down to the minutest detail but that’s all he did. When it came to achievement, he never actually stepped into the list to tackle what it was that he held so dear that he needed to list it in the first place.

The problem is that lists should be used in a very impelling way so that by the end of the day, you can tick off all of the items on that list. When you go shopping with a list, the purpose of the list is obvious. These are all of the things that you need. A list in the case of trying to organize your life needs to take account of the following things:

The daily list is the most important one because this is the list that directs you to get things achieved within a small period of time. The week’s list can be played around with if you achieve more than you thought you would and you can add things to different days as some may dependent upon other factors. For example, if you get paid on Thursday and one of the jobs on the list requires money from your pay, then you can’t do it until after the payday has arrived. Thus, there will be goals that depend upon other things happening.

The monthly list may be similarly waiting for you to have the money to do it, but it’s still there and you still need to make sure that you do, so that you don’t spend everything without remembering that task.

For the first week, I want you to concentrate on your daily list and to try and finish everything that is on the list.
