Weight Loss: There are folks on the Paleo diet who are in it for weight loss. I found it surprising that the Paleo diet includes a lot of fat (including animal fat!), nuts, and other fat sources. However, as it was explained to me, it was all within the context. I used to eat bacon and ham as a part of meals that are tasty yet increased my risk of heart disease.

In the Paleo diet, I still ate bacon but it was part of an anti-inflammatory strategy. I no longer ate it with highly processed food. I ate it with healthy fruits and veggies thus in the long run it helped me lose weight and maintain my figure.

Now there are those who say that science does not back the diet. Of course they will say that but did they ever mention actual medical studies on the Paleo Diet? There are studies like this and this one that affirm the weight loss effects of following this diet.

It’s all very simple really. All you need to do is to eat healthy fats and oils (this came as an initial shock to me since I just finished with a zero fat diet), spices, herbs, seeds, nuts, fruits, vegetables, eggs, fish (lots of it), and a lot of meat. Note that that meat sources should be grass fed so you better check if the cow, that is now your steak was fed, was allowed to graze naturally or not.
