Lilly just wants to grieve, but her brother Tony has other plans for her and begins sending her messages from beyond the grave.

Fearing that her father won't believe her, Lilly enlists the aid of the boy next store, Kyle, who's brother Michael also died in the accident on Highway 44.

Lilly believes that once her brother's mystery is solved, her life will go back to normal, but when she began walking between the world of the living and the spirit world, she captured the attention of darker, more diabolical entities who seek to torment and destroy her.

Having nowhere else to turn, the once shy teenager must accept the help of a strange blind woman and her son, the leader of a paranormal research team.

Sample text:

The flames from the candles danced quietly on the wind as John Roberts stumbled haplessly through his front door. He struggled to keep his grasp on the damp, cold firewood that left bark and ice on the sleeves of his coat. Johns’ daughter, Lilly, got up from her place on the couch to meet him and lighten his load. The storm had succeeded in knocking out the power for miles. At fourteen below with no heat source, John was going to be up all night stoking the fire.  He gazed toward the front window looking for headlights, hoping Tony would be home soon. It was not a good night for teenagers to be driving home from a game alone. He could feel Lilly watching his gaze and turned to her. “Why don’t you take the flash light out to the kitchen and round us up some weenies and marshmallows so we can put these barbeque skewers to use.” He pointed at the still sealed package of grilling tools he received for his birthday last June. Lilly sighed, not wanting to leave her warm spot on the couch, and reluctantly headed out of the room.

Lilly was collecting up paper plates, mustard, and sodas when she heard a knock at the door.  She peered around the corner to see the back of her father in the doorway. She could hear the familiar pounding that comes when someone kicks the snow off the toes of their boots. The door opened wider and two well-padded police men entered. It was only then that she noticed the blue and red flashes coming through the window. She turned her attention back to the officers but they spoke so softly she could only make out pieces of the conversation.  She heard, “accident”, “off the road”, “call came in”, “St Mary’s Hospital”, “in guarded condition” and then, “afraid the other boy did not make it”.
