New ways to share god's love

When it comes to being a messenger of God’s love many of us have may have different ideas. Some people are ready to go into the streets right now, while others are more comfortable sharing their faith in a one-on-one friendship setting. Let’s be honest, most people are scared stiff!

Let me put you at ease right now. Jesus never intended for us to be anxious and feel guilty about evangelism. I’d like to share with you some ideas for finding more natural, culturally relevant ways to be God’s messenger in the new millennium. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Sample text:

Many Christians feel that we must share the good news of Jesus because Jesus commanded us to. When I first gave my life to Jesus Christ, I was told that all Christians must evangelize. Before He ascended to Heaven, Jesus Himself gave us these marching orders, often referred to as The Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

In assessing our progress, however, several writers have called this passage “The Great Omission.” We know we are all called to go and make disciples, but most of us for one reason or another don’t. So once a year, pastors pull out the “We All Must Evangelize” sermon, and we develop enough guilt to go out and invite someone to church. However, anything driven by guilt won’t last long.
