Sample text:

Basically, a person who suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder is called a narcissist, and is someone with a truly inflated ego. He doesn’t feel empathetic, and he has this deep need to be admired and praised. According to psychologists, around 16% of society suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or at least 1 in every 6 people. It is also said that sometimes, the root of domestic violence is narcissism.

A narcissist often lives an unhappy and unsatisfying life because he has this constant need to please others, without actually doing his best to please them. When he feels that he’s being ignored, or is not given the recognition he thinks he deserves, he sulks, and thinks his life does not matter. This is also the exact reason why his relationships often do not work.

Why It Happens

Since Narcissistic Personality Disorder is considered rare, there are no exact known reasons why it actually happens. However, according to a number of studies, it boils down to two things, which are:

Psychobiology or Genetics. It is said that there is a vast connection between brain functions, and how one thinks and behaves, and;
Parent-Child Relationships. It could either be caused by either excessive criticism or excessive pampering. There should always be a balance between the two, because if not, it could lead to narcissism and other disorders, as well.
