Let's go back to a child. They are fully present. Chasing a  butterfly, blowing bubbles and watching them burst, playing with what they see. There is no concept of tomorrow. The parent leaves the room and the child cries, all they feel is the loss now, even being told the parent will return doesn't make the pain lessen. The parent returns and the child's view of the world is back to normal. The fear, loss feelings that were created now gone. The stress reaction created by the upset has returned to normal functioning.


As adults, we hold this fear and loss and then focus on when it's going to happen again, because we “just know” it will. See how the imbalance occurs? The mind looks at the past to judge the future and when negative thoughts and negative emotions are intertwined, the result is un-ease.
