Incessant negative thinking gives birth to depression, anxiety, and other similar conditions. Yes, at one point or the other, it is normal to experience depression but if you continuously worry about a certain event, you form strong and devastating negative thoughts in your mind. Quite often, these worrisome thoughts revolve around past events, or events that are yet to happen.

Instead of moving on and perceiving that incident as an experience, or thinking positively about the future, we allow past and future worry to continuously trouble our mind and thoughts. When you constantly think of an upsetting event, you brew more negative thoughts than is usual.

According to recent research studies, we, humans, experience about 25,000-50,000 thoughts in a day; if we are sad, we tend to think more. When you think of something bothersome, negative thoughts supersede positive thoughts. As you may already know, when negative thoughts enter your mind, they take up more space, leaving no room for positive thinking. With time, the negative thoughts become stronger resulting in depression, chronic anxiety, and stress.
