Sample text:

Before we begin analyzing our dreams, we will have to remember them in the first place. As I mentioned in the previous  chapter, many of us do not remember our dreams once we wake up. For most people, they are able to remember the details of the dream during the first few minutes of waking up. After that, we are left with the feeling that we had an interesting dream, but we just can’t remember what it was about. This could be due to the fact that when awake, your brain is rational and logical. This is the complete opposite from the mind when it is dreaming. Once away, your conscious will attempt to fill the gaps that may not have happened during the dream just to make it logical.

This is exactly why I suggest keeping a record as you dream. The longer you are awake, the more chances your brain will have to add logical details that weren’t truly present while you were asleep. While recording, try to skip the whole story. Instead, write down any fragments or images that you remember. The sequence in which they occurred is less important. This is the perfect first step to getting to analyze your dreams. As we will be learning later, the symbols may represent something. The story itself isn’t as important.
