La decima di Abramo
Troviamo per la prima volta menzionare la decima nelle sacre scritture nell’episodio di Abramo che dona la decima a Melchisedek.[1]
Melchisedek nelle sacre scritture è un personaggio che rappresenta e prefigura Gesù Cristo, è una prefigurazione del suo sacerdozio eterno.[2]
Abramo era in viaggio con il suo piccolo esercito e stava ritornando con il bottino di guerra dopo avere vinto una battaglia.[3]
Abramo diede la decima di tutto il suo bottino di guerra.[4]
Essendo in quel momento in viaggio di ritorno da una missione di guerra Abramo non diede la decima a Melchisedek di tutti i suoi beni in assoluto, non diede la decima di tutte le sue entrate economiche delle sue rendite lavorative, non diede la decima di tutti i suoi raccolti agricoli e nemmeno di tutti i danari che aveva o di tutti gli animali che possedeva.
