The logistics behind this IF program is simple. You fast for 16 hours and eat within an 8-hour window. Most people find it easier to fast overnight, skip breakfast and eat their main meal around lunchtime. Fasting between 8 p.m. and 12 midday the following day should work with most schedules.
Here are some healthy recipes that will provide you a great lunch to start your day.
Healthy chicken pie
● 1 cup of mushrooms roughly chopped
● 4 chicken thighs cut into smaller pieces
● 2 tbsp of organic butter
● 2 leeks washed and sliced into pieces
● 1 cup vegetable stock
● Olive oil
● Bunch of spinach leaves
● 4 sheets of filo pastry
● 1 Tsp corn flour
● ½ cup of double cream
1) Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade or equivalent
2) Over a high heat melt the butter and add the leeks and mushrooms. When they begin to soften add the chicken thighs and flash fry for a couple of minutes. Add the stock and allow it to simmer gently.
3) Mix corn flour with water until smooth and then add to the pan. Also, add the cream. Bring back to the boil and stir until the sauce thickens. Now add the spinach and wilt the leaves for 30 seconds.
4) Remove the mixture from the stove and place the mixture into a pie dish. Allow to cool for 10 mins.
