Both moths and butterflies lay eggs on leaves in the form of a mushy material called ‘larvae’. The larvae then will turn into little worms, which become caterpillars. Moth caterpillars eventually wrap themselves into a silky cocoon, which they make all by themselves. Butterfly caterpillars make a similar little house, called a chrysalis.
