Dani: A Dani Scott Novella by Stuart Keane

A Psychological Thriller

Dani: a dani scott novella

She's back...

It's been six months since Dani gained revenge for the brutal death of her family. With a major crime syndicate now out of commission, the residents of London can rest easy in the knowledge that the streets are a little safer.

But crime is unending, a disease. London will never be safe.

With her own personal vendetta complete, Dani now takes to the streets to avenge the citizens of her city; the helpless, the suffering and the victimised, but it's not going to be a simple task. The crime world is now aware of her presence, the avenging shadow that stalks the unlawful in the night, but so are the police.

With no one to turn to, and wanted by both sides of the law, Dani must come to terms with her perilous situation, face her inner demons, and make the ultimate decision.

Sales info:

This title started out as the sequel to Grin, but as I worked on the characters, I quickly realised that one book would not be enough to finish the Dani storyline. Thus, I converted this into a novella to bridge the gap between Grin and its incoming sequel, Resurgence (due 2018). Three more sequels are planned thereafter.

This was a Kindle exclusive title (meaning it only featured on Amazon as an ebook). It has never seen a print release (my only title to do so), but Dani will feature in the remastered edition of Grin, which will be released alongside Resurgence.

Like Grin, this title still sells well, and it fared pretty well in India. I would love to get this out into the foreign markets.

Highest Amazon Chart Position: #3 in Horror/Thrillers/#2 in Short Stories

Sample text:

Teri swallowed again. "You saved me."

"Yes. From more than a simple mugging."

Teri gulped, remembered her futile existence. A tear rolled down her swollen cheek.

Never a truer word…

She recalled the bizarre events from earlier that evening. The elaborate romantic charade with Fred that seemed genuine. The sudden attack, the violent mugging, the savage murder. Fred's dead body lying in the rain-specked light. Rough hands groping her bruised body.

She shivered.

It was then Teri realised she was a free woman.

I should grieve, she thought.

But her mind and body wouldn’t allow her to grieve for Fred, the man who'd systematically tortured her for years, a man who'd used his 'beloved' wife as a mobile punching bag. She recalled the broken ribs, the ruptured lips, the fractured leg, the cracked skull he'd blamed on a simple stair fall, and she wanted to grieve for this monster?

The emotion wouldn't come, not anymore.

You cried in the alleyway.

It was during a mugging … and it could have been a lot worse.

Sue me for being emotional.

Her brain was frazzled, exhausted, still processing the shocking information, but one thing was crystal clear; the murder had made her a free woman.

And she knew it would come at a hefty price.

The implications dawned on her.

She gazed at the figure with hindered appreciation. "Thank you."

"Don’t mention it."

"You took me away to … to save me from my life?"

The figure straightened up, moved forward and emerged from the shadows. She paused, removed a fedora hat, walked over to Teri, and knelt down beside the bed.

Grin was here, in all her mutilated glory.
