Crimson the dragon and the mad cackler

Princess Genevieve's personal guard, Crimson, a good and warmhearted dragon, helps rescue King Valentin's magical daughter from a spell cast by the evil dragon, Sparks Snorter.  Sparks wants his treasure of rubies, so he buys a potion from the witch, Bertha Cackler.  After stealing a lock of hair from the princess to complete the potion, the child is transformed into a wolf puppy.

King Valentin goes to rescue his toddler.  Along the way he meets a fairy with a pet owl named Hoot.  Hoot guides them in the direction of the princess while the bluebells sway.

To reverse the spell, Crimson needs to find Bracken Pepper Witch, the star-shaped flower from a rare poinsettia in the winter snow.  The rare poinsettia grows in the Crystal Mountains, guarded by a seven-headed evil dragon.

Will Crimson find the rare poinsettia needed to reverse the spell?  Will Sparks Snorter be thwarted yet again? Join the adventure to turn her back into human princess form.   Follow Genevieve’s adoring parents Queen Penelope and King Valentin on their quest to save their princess daughter.

Sample text:

At the top of Lonely Mountain, there lived a young dragon named Crimson. He was the only dragon who produced rubies when he shed his red scales or when he cried. Before he became Princess Genevieve’s personal guard, he had to stay in his cave every day to protect his treasure of red gems from greedy dragons. Now he was a member of the royal court, giving all the rubies he shed to the villagers. His generosity helped all the people in King Valentin’s kingdom live well and happiness filled the land.

The evil dragon, Sparks Snorter, steamed and bubbled with envy near the entrance to his grotto. He guarded his treasures and hoarded pearls in a cave near the ocean. His shiny white scales glowed like the moon. Sparks’s weapon was his breath. He could breathe a cone of blinding white light which he used against his enemies to steal their riches.

Two years ago, Sparks Snorter’s plan to kidnap the magical princess failed when Bracken Pepper Witch turned his partner, Queen Malvainia, into a good person. All the rubies he had been promised were used to feed her villagers instead. Sparks wanted those rubies, and he spent all his days and nights thinking of a new plan to get them.

“I cannot kidnap the child again because she is well guarded by Crimson and his dragon friend, Amethyst,” Sparks complained to his human spy, Sebastian.

“Queen Malvainia’s pet wolves never leave Princess Genevieve’s side,” Sebastian replied. “Everyone in the kingdom loves the toddler’s bright smile and good heart. Her magical powers make all those around her enjoy peace and happiness. You need some more powerful magic. Maybe the witch, Bertha Cackler, can help.”
