My career goals
My long-term career goal—my life’s ambition—is to establish a “business incubator,” an organization that helps people transform their ideas into vibrant, profitable, global businesses. That entity will probably be in Australia, where a chronic need exists for the creation of small businesses—a need exacerbated by the recent recession—and where limited support facilities are available. The “incubator” would provide the environment for venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to meet and the startup companies with the needed expertise and skills. The “incubator” would also meet my entrepreneurial and philanthropic needs, especially as it would enable me to use my entrepreneurial and technical talents to help others help themselves.
To achieve this somewhat ambitious goal, I have been developing the requisite knowledge, diverse set of skills, and extensive business network. I began to develop the technical knowledge and problem solving skills during my university program in engineering. After graduation, I joined a management consulting firm to expand my business knowledge through exposure to a wide variety of companies, across numerous industries and countries, and to enhance my communication skills. These endeavors have been complemented by my many extracurricular activities: establishing an investment consortium, and playing an active role on the board of a forum for young business people.
