Being Alive by Karen Rouillard

She went away for a vacation, she ended up in paradise.

Being alive

Lisa walked into the resort and looked at him from across the lobby. His body was the body every woman dreamed of. His eyes pulled her in and his smile melted her heart. She was going to get to know this man who stood behind the reservations desk.

Was it her hair, the rich brown long strands or the slim build of her body that he watched as each man in the lobby turned to look at? No it was the amber eyes that stole his heart. The touch of her skin like velvet. His heart was gone in that small moment in time.

Sample text:

After waiting two and half hours on a layover she finally got to the resort only to be told that they had been overbooked and that she would have to go to another resort for the night.  Lisa knew that things like this were rare but could happen. The front desk manager took her aside and sat her down in a chair that was close to the front desk. As he sat down in the other chair across from her, she look at this gorgeous man in front of her. He took her hand in his and as she looked into his golden brown eyes she could feel the warmth of his skin. Montero loved how her hand fit in his. “I assure you that when you come back tomorrow I will have everything right for you.” Lisa understood, it didn’t mean that she wasn’t upset but she didn’t have a choice right now. As she stood up, Montero let go of her hand. He hated when these things happened. They would sell off too many rooms and then leave it to him to have to fix it. He enjoyed his job and he loved to see people happy but this was one part of his job that he could do without. Lisa walked beside the man who came to help her put her bags in the taxi that would take her to the other resort for the night. As she looked back one more time, she saw Montero standing there watching as she got into the cab. He was taller than what she thought. Sitting back in the taxi, she looked out the window just in time to see him turn back to go back the front desk.
