Alex opened his eyes to an ominous black sky speckled with stars and a waning moon. His head ached with a hangover, and his body still felt strange from the effects of the tobacco he had smoked the day before. Was it even tobacco? He was beginning to wonder.

Now to see if his body actually worked, or if he was still under paralysis from the smoke's neurotoxins. Alex started by wiggling his fingers. All seemed well enough. Then he sat up, which caused his head to spin. He had to clutch the sides of it to make the world stand still, feeling like he might retch at any moment.

Alex was laying in the middle of the forest, fully clothed, and seemingly unscathed. What happened to the giant mushroom, or the genie, for that matter? Had it all been just a bad dream? If it had, that wouldn't explain the fact that the trees around him were miles high, and the grass reached over his head. No, Alex was still in Wonderland, and he would have to go see the Demon of Hearts if he wanted to get out.

“Stupid fucking white rabbit,” Alex grumbled while he tried to remember everything the genie had told him.
