Mochilero de provincias. De Europa a Asia by Gustavo Prieto

My backpacking trip from Europe to Asia for 8 months

Mochilero de provincias. de europa a asia

I dreamed of a trip without a return ticket and after a few years, I managed to leave my fears behind and take the backpack.

I left Spain by hitchhiking and sleeping in the homes of people who treated me like family thanks to couchsurfing. Two months later I passed the Turkish border and arrived in Istanbul. I toured Turkey along the coast until I entered Pammukale, the lands of the delviches and the great capadoccia. On Christmas 2013 I flew to Nepal where some friends were waiting for me and we celebrated the new year in Kadmandu. I started the year by meditating silently on a vipassana course. I passed the border of India in a car and spent two months visiting the Hindu culture. I practiced yoga in Rishikesh and in mid-March I went to Southeast Asia. In Bangkok I started touring Thailand, hiking in Laos, visiting remote villages and trying a snake soup. I entered through northern Vietnam and went down to the south, where I crossed the border into Cambodia. My last country that served as icing on the cake by going back thousands of years in the famous temples of Angkor.

A trip that changed my life and made me a backpacker of provinces.

The book tells my adventure, my encounters and disagreements. Without giving lessons, I explain what couchsurfing is and how I was hitchhiking in Europe. Why meditation woke me from my lethargy and why I want to relive such a trip.
